| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This time the Pokemon we are looking into detail is Charizard. Charizard is one of the classic characters being in all 4 generations of Pokemon. He is a very under used poke, and could do some serious damage if you are not prepared. Being a flying type avoids the danger of an earthquake, but this allows, rock pokes, and electric pokes to put some massive damage on you. Watch out for stealth rock, lol!
There is many different move sets for charizard, my favorite idea is to choice this poke for some unexpecting surprises. A massive problem does occur with it though, all of its power up moves power up its very weak atk stat, intead of its pretty high special atack.
Choice speced/Choice scarfed Item:Choice Specs/Choice Scarfed Nature: If Speced, use Modest/If Scarfed, use Timid Evs:252 Speed; 252 Special Attack Flamethrower/Heat Wave/Fire Blast/Overheat Dragon Pulse Focus Blast Ancient Power
I love this Charizard, it has its base moves to murder openents, it can be used to counter dragons, and also counters rock and electric pokes. To me this is the best set to have.
Sunny Day Item: Leftovers Nature: Modest Evs:252 Speed; 252 Special Attack Sunny Day Substitute Flamethrower/Heat Wave/Fire Blast/Overheat Solar Beam
This Charizard is quite risky to use, but if you can get a sunny day up, your fire atacks will be doubled in base power because of stab and a sunny day bonus and solar beam will take barely any time to charge up.
Belly-zard Item:Lum Berry Nature:Jolly Evs: 252 Speed; 206 HP; 52 Attack Belly Drum Rest Flare Blitz Brick Break/Dragon Claw/Iron Tail/Arial Ace
Of cource Belly Drum then Rest up as your Lum Berry wakes you up instantly. I like Flare Blitz in this situation, even though it puts ton of damage on you, it is its strongest move. The next one you have many options. You can go with a Brick Break to take out the rock pokes, but it is the weakest of the moves. Dragon Claw for something acurate yet powerful enough with max atk, Iron Tail takes out the rock poes as well but is very inacurate, this is its strongest move out of the four, then at last the stabbed Arial Ace, nothing real special about this, I would not use this atack.
Power-up Item:Focus Sash/Leftovers Nature:Adamant/Jolly Evs:252 Speed; 252 Attack Swords Dance/Dragon Dance Outrage/Dragon Claw (prefer Dragon Claw) Flare Blitz/Fire Fang (prefer Flare Blitz) Earthquake
This works quite good, get one or two power ups in and you can start beasting with charizard. Dragon Claw for those dragon pokes, your fire moves obviously for power to destroy pokes, and earthquake to kill the types that kill Charizard. | |
